The Let’s Praise dance team is for dancers who want to improve their dancing ability, have more opportunities to perform, be apart of a team and grow closer to God on a non-completive dance team. Practices are Monday evenings September-May
Team Members Can Expect To:
- Have more opportunities to perform thought out the year
- Be in more dances in the winter & spring performances
- Learn more styles of dance
- Be apart of a small team of dancers close in age and ability
- Have extra practice time during the week
- Become a better dancer

Requirements, Fees, & Audition Times
Open House Monday April 15th 2024 6:30-7:00pm
- Dancers & parents wanting to learn more about dance team are invited to our open house night.
- Dance team members will share their experiences, answer questions & give attendees a preview of some of their dance team dances.

Requirements
- Must be in a ballet class at Ferndale Dance while on the team & taking a technique class.
- Must also take another performing class at Ferndale Dance. (Ballet, technique, + another performing class)
- Previous dance experience
- Going into 6th-12th grade
- Committed to make all practices and events July 2024-June 2025 (Please communicate if you cannot make an event or practice in advanced.)
- Attend Monday night practices September-May/June
- Attend the retreat August 19th-22nd 2024
- Always wanting to improve and learn new things
- Has a heart for God & loving others
Dance Team Fees Breakdown
- Uniform + Performance Fee $85 -due July 1st 2024
- Dance Retreat $175 -due July 1st 2024
- Tuition will be $15/week or $60/month depending how many weeks of dance team each month. Multi class discounts do not apply to dance team tuition.
Audition Times & What To Expect
Wednesday, June 3rd 2024
- 6th-12th Grade time TBA auditions
Dancers who have been on dance team 3+ years do not need to audition but need to fill out audition form and return to studio by July 3th. In person or via email.
Fill out audition form and bring on audition day. No pre-registration necessary. (If you cannot make auditions in person please contact us by June 1st and we will send you our video audition option.)
Please wear tights, leotard, bun and optional ballet skirt.
During auditions dancers will do bar and center warm up, learn several combinations of different styles, and then will perform them in small groups.
We will be looking at stage presence, technique, focus, effort, attitude, willingness, teachability and memorization of steps.
Anyone meeting the requirements is welcome to auditions but ballet will be a big part of this team.
You will receive an email the day after auditions either inviting you to join the team (please respond within 48 hours if you will be accepting the invitation) or a list of things for the dancer to work on to be considered to join the following year if requested.
Our first team event will be a potluck to welcome new and old members to the team and we invite families as well so parents can also get to know one another. The date for this will be determined after auditions.
Please Note
At any time Ferndale Dance Directors have the right to reconsider dancers eligibility for dance team if dancers are unable to attend the retreat, multiply unexcused absences of dance team practices and other weekly classes, disrespectful towards other and a lack of enthusiasm to grow in their technique.
Team members and their parents will be required to look through and sign our code of conduct once on the team and will be held accountable for breaking it.
