ABOUT US

Ferndale Dance started in 2006 with two high school girls who had a dream and a vision to share God’s love through dance. With teaching and dancing on their hearts and the generosity of Ferndale Alliance Church they started teaching dance classes Sunday afternoons in the upper part of the church. The classes were small at first and performances short and sweet. Over the years interest grew and so did the number of students and classes. The performances were held in the sanctuary at FAC until a winter performance in 2012 when there was not enough seats for the audience and they were left standing around the sides of the room. In 2013 they moved their performances to Ferndale High School in the Auditorium. After only a few performances there, the number of students tripled. As Ferndale Dance continues to grow they are offering more classes, hiring more teachers and accepting more students each year.

We give all the praise and glory to God for blessing us and our community with Ferndale Dance. For through him all things are made possible.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to serve our students, their families, and our community by providing a loving and trusted environment to dance, have fun, and grow together. We honor God and each other with thoughtful music choices, appropriate costumes, honorable choreography, and captivating performance themes.

WHAT WE TEACH

We teach ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, hip hop, contemporary, technique, pointe, pre-pointe and acro. We welcome dancers of all skill levels and start at age 3-adults.

Hanna

Director

At age 4, I started dancing at The Dance Studio in Bellingham, WA and took several styles of dance for 14 years. Since then, I’ve continued taking classes throughout Whatcom County improving myself as a dancer and teacher. For as long as I can remember I have had a love for dancing and teaching and it was my dream to be a dance teacher one day. That dream has came true and I love being the Director of Ferndale Dance. Dancing has and will always be a big part of my life. I love teaching all styles and ages and have found so much joy over the years being apart of Ferndale Dance. I’ve been teaching dance classes since 2006.
