At age 4, I started dancing at The Dance Studio in Bellingham, WA and took several styles of dance for 14 years. Since then, I’ve continued taking classes throughout Whatcom County improving myself as a dancer and teacher. For as long as I can remember I have had a love for dancing and teaching and it was my dream to be a dance teacher one day. That dream has came true and I love being the Director of Ferndale Dance. Dancing has and will always be a big part of my life. I love teaching all styles and ages and have found so much joy over the years being apart of Ferndale Dance. I’ve been teaching dance classes since 2006.

When I was 4 years old I followed in my big sisters’ footsteps and fell in love with dance. I danced at The Dance Studio in Bellingham for 11 years and then at Dancing for Joy the next 4 years. During my time at Dancing for Joy I was a member of the Jubilee Dance Company and in my junior and senior year I completed their internship program. I have been apart of Ferndale Dance since the beginning when my older sister, Hanna, started it in 2006. When I was 13 Hanna let me teach my first Little Ballerina’s class and I’ve loved teaching ever since. I’ve been a proud teacher at Ferndale Dance since 2010 and I love my students and my fellow teachers. I believe I have the best job in the world. Ferndale Dance is my home and I can’t imagine my life without it.

I started dancing when I was about 3 years old and haven’t stopped sense. I came to Ferndale Dance when I was 8 and have enjoyed taking all styles of dance but ballet, pointe and jazz are definitely my favorite! Shortly after coming to Ferndale Dance I became a teacher’s assistant for several years. In January of 2017 I become an official dance teacher which has always been a dream of mine! Now that I have graduated Ferndale High School I can’t wait to continue teaching and grow my education as a teacher. I love teaching so much and am so glad God has made this dream come true! Seeing the happiness and joy in my students always brings a big smile to my face.

I started dancing at Miss Karen’s Dance Studio in Ferndale at age 9. At age 11, I started attending Ferndale Dance, and first started substituting classes at the studio at age 13. Also in the same year (2014), I began to teach free dance classes at my church with Miss Alexa, which we continued from 2014-2017. At age 16, I was offered a teaching position at Ferndale Dance which was my dream job! I currently teach tap, lyrical and hip hop, but have also taught jazz, ballet, and even Jewish Messianic dance. Ever since teaching for the first time at my church, I’ve loved teaching dance and being in ministry and am so honored to be a part of the Ferndale Dance family.

Born and raised near Spokane ,Washington in Deer Park, I started dancing at my small town studio at age 6. I started with hip hop off and on through elementary and middle school. In high school after a year of cheerleading, I started ballet and ended up dabbling in tap and contemporary. In the fall of 2020 I moved to Bellingham for school at WWU where I am pursuing a degree in Exceptionality and Disability in Education. After my first year at Western I was offered a teaching position at Ferndale Dance. I’ve always had a passion for children’s ministry and I’m so glad I get to continue it here!

I was born in Whatcom county, into a Christian family. At 8, I started hip hop at Dancing For Joy. I’ve only danced hip hop, as other styles of dance didn’t interest me. I really enjoy the music, dress, and dance of hip hop. I’ve had numerous dance teachers; last time I counted I had over 20, each with their own styles. I grew up in a Boy Scout family, earned Eagle Scout, and since then grew to love the outdoors. I’m currently finishing my AA at Whatcom Community College, am involved in ministry there, and praying where God wants to put me next.

Just before my 9th birthday, I began taking ballet and jazz at Ferndale Dance. Since then, I’ve studied contemporary, hip hop, lyrical, and am now on pointe. I love my cat, my family, my friends, and traveling, and have been homeschooled since first grade. Although I’ve assisted dance classes for several years, this will be my first time teaching and am thrilled for this opportunity to work with such amazing people. Dance is my passion, faith is my foundation, and kids are my joy!

At age 4 years old I began my journey with dance taking Jazz, Tap and Ballet. It did not take long for Ballet to become my favorite. I trained 5 days a week with Southland Ballet Academy in California, and was accepted to perform with their company Festival Ballet Theatre up to the time my family moved to WA in 1992. During my time with FBT I was able to perform with Joffrey Ballet and American Ballet Theatre. I took classes and performed with Morca Dance Academy up until the time Isabelle passed away. Following this I trained and performed with Northwest Ballet in Bellingham until I became pregnant with my first son. As my son got a bit older I went back to dance and found A Gift of Dance (Now Infinity Dance Company) and performed and taught with them for 10 years. In 2014 I started my company Dance Prodigy Booking after being asked by many how to get professionals from around the world to come teach master classes/offer auditions and pre-professional training like I was blessed to have access to in California. The corridor from Seattle to Canada offered little opportunities for dancers of all levels, genres. I have brought professionals and companies such as ABT and Joffrey Ballet to Whatcom, King County and various areas in Canada. I offer and have mentored, privately trained several dancers from all over the country that have gone on to Julliard, Suny Purchase, Bolshoi Ballet, Paradosi Ballet ,Royal Winnipeg Ballet and other venues. I love to teach/work with dancers of all levels that have a love of dance in their hearts. I personally feel it is one of the most beautiful way to worship the Lord. I am looking forward to this opportunity to teach at Ferndale Dance. I live in Ferndale with my husband, two of my three sons, our daughter in law and my sweet dog Misch.

Hi! My name is Ellie Fox and I am a senior at Ferndale High School. I have been doing dance/dance related sports like cheer and gymnastics for pretty much all my life. I just love to dance, being in the studio, and being able to dance freely is probably one of my favorite things. I have competed in Lyrical, Musical Theater, and Hip-Hop, but my top favorites are Hip-Hop and lyrical/contemporary. I love getting to share my passion with others and watching them grow in the sport and seeing their faces when they finally get that one move or skill just fills my heart.

I started dancing at Ferndale Dance when I was 10 years old. I have done a number of styles of dance such as Hip-Hop, Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical and Adagio, all at Ferndale Dance. I grew up in a musical household with all my older siblings taking dance and my dad teaching piano lessons. Besides dance, I took piano lessons as a kid and I also was involved in musical theater throughout middle school and high school along with choir and musical theory classes at WCC. My favorite dance style is tap. I really like tap because my dance moves make sounds that add so much to the song I’m dancing to.
